In March 2025, I hired Devino Mechanical to connect a bathroom fan vent to the exterior of our home. The fan had been installed the previous year by an electrical contractor, and the task at hand was to exhaust it through an existing path. The crew was scheduled to arrive between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., but did not arrive until 10:00. After a brief walkthrough, they left and returned around 11:00 with the necessary materials. The work was completed by approximately 12:15 p.m. The job itself seemed to be done properly, but I was surprised when the invoice arrived. It was $150 over the quoted amount. Upon reviewing the invoice, I noticed it listed 3.5 hours of labor for one worker and 2.5 for another—both of which appeared inconsistent with the actual time spent on-site. Additionally, the labor minimum had changed from 2 hours (as quoted) to 3 hours on the invoice. I emailed Devino the same day the invoice was received to request clarification. That message went unanswered. Over the next several weeks, I sent two additional emails and followed up with a phone call—none of which received a reply. Despite my attempts to communicate, I continued receiving updated invoices without acknowledgment of my concerns. In late June, I was contacted by a collections agency—without any prior response or resolution effort from Devino. I promptly disputed the charges and provided the agency with documentation of my communication attempts, along with a breakdown of the discrepancies. I also sent the same documentation to Devino via certified mail to the address listed on their invoice. The mail was returned unclaimed. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt—it’s possible no one was available to sign at the time. In an effort to bring closure to the matter and avoid ongoing collection attempts, I ultimately paid the full invoice—even though I still had unresolved questions about the charges. I felt I had made every reasonable attempt to discuss the matter directly with the company. This experience was both unfortunate and genuinely surprising. The issue could have been easily resolved through a simple phone call or email response. I approached this in good faith and was met with silence, followed by an unexpected collection notice. Clear, honest communication goes a long way in building trust—and unfortunately, that was lacking here. It’s worth noting that the work itself was done well and professionally. I was genuinely appreciative that Devino came out to perform the service, and this review is not a reflection on the quality of the workmanship. Rather, it speaks to the breakdown in communication and billing transparency that followed. What could have been a straightforward and positive experience was unfortunately overshadowed by avoidable frustration and silence. A simple, timely response could have resolved everything.

The Devino team responded within a day to an emergency repair request and fixed the issue (leaking pipe between floors) quickly and professionally. One of the staff even helped talk through some partial plumbing improvements which was greatly appreciated.

We had a very frustrating (and expensive) experience with these folks. We asked them to install an outlet for an electric range, and they installed a plug on the floor that sticks out, so we can't slide the stove all the way in. When we told them we wanted it installed in the wall, they sent someone who appeared to be confused about what we wanted, stayed for about 15 minutes, said he had to go to the store for some parts, and never came back. Worst of all, they charged us an extra $200 for the second visit, for a grand total of $1,381 in the final invoice. We tried calling and setting up a call to talk to them about the situation several times but weren't able to get them on the phone. We ultimately just paid the invoice and chalked it up to a lesson learned. Updated to add: After seeing this review, the owner asked me to take it down "before this gets to be ugly," and issued what I consider a threat of legal action. So, make of that what you will, and if you have a bad experience like we did, I guess you should be careful about sharing your experience. The headaches never cease! I can't tell you how much we regret hiring this company.
