Loyal new customer scammed! We are dissatisfied and want to share our experience to warn others to clearly understand the proposed agreement prior to approving work with Taylor plumbing. We wanted to add a 2nd water meter in order to separate our irrigation system to pay less sewer and understand our irrigation water usage. A friendly tech arrived and he discussed their partnership with First Utility District (FUD). He contacted his supervisor who told us they would order the appropriate meter and install it all for about $3,800. We signed the proposal as written “This option to install 2nd water meter with box for irrigation and replace 1” union and adapter off water meter.” We were not home when the work was completed and did not inspect the meter. We received our FUD bill and the water usage was not separated. We contacted FUD and after a visit from their tech, they informed us that a FUD readable meter should have been installed and they would do it for $1,400. They also stated Taylor plumbing should have known better not to install the incorrect meter. We contacted Megan who was very nice, as usual and talked with Tommy who said we needed to talk with Joe. After a few more calls we found out that both Joe and the tech no longer work for them. I finally talked with Tommy who talked to their owner and proposed the following: we would have FUD install the correct meter and return the incorrect meter asking for only the FUD work amount to be credited. This would still pay $2400 for the plumbing work that they completed. They refused stating they performed the work correctly. We paid them $3800 for a non-readable FUD meter. How does that make sense and it was not verbally agreed to as the tech, and Joe, both understood what we wanted to do and why it was needed. I caution everyone to ensure you have clarity with the work proposal and work performed. We thought we were dealing with a local company, with integrity, and expected the proposal to be an acceptable solution. We are saddened and disappointed with the reaction that we received. Beware!
I had a leak under my sink so called Taylor plumbing because it was early in the morning and had to go to work. I felt around the drain pipe and noticed a little bit of moisture so explained this to the technician before he came. He called back and said it wasn't that it was around the bottom of my sink and just needed to be caulked. Was a little bit skeptical at first but I am not a professional plumber so took his word. They charged for $139 just for a bead of caulk and the service call. Within a few days later underneath my sink was completely covered in water almost ruining my cabinet floor. Called the main number asked for a manager to call me back and explained what happened. Instead a parts guy calls me that's not a supervisor and said he would have to wait for his boss to get up and would probably be the following day before they could send anyone out. Told them this was unacceptable considering I couldn't use my kitchen sink until it was fixed. To say the least I was not happy and would not recommend them at all considering this should have been an easy fix for a license plumber.
Five stars for plumber Mike and a his apprentice! Please hired and train all your plumbers to train under Mike and his ethic for the future of your business and the next generation after these seasoned plumbers retire! Merit and competency is rewarded before good paying salaries are given to teach the up coming plumbers good thorough stewardship not before they earn it! Will call back Mike for any further business ! Thank Taylor Plumber for the service of my first time flush of my tankless water heater! Well done!👍
