I called them last minute for a clean out of my lines because my toilet wouldn't flush. I've owned my house for a year now and it was built in 1942 so they only did light reworking of the pipe work on the house. Isiah showed up on time and tried every possible solution before we did the big project. The piping was deteriorating and needed to be replaced. The guys were so good at working with me financially as well as with their communication. I had to go out of town during the install and they kept me up to date with pictures and updates on where they were at on the project. They left my property clean and I'm so happy I can flush my toilet without worrying about it clogging anymore! Professionalism was awesome as well. Thanks guys

I recently had Roto-Rooter come out for a free quote after discovering a water pipe leak outside my home. I had already done all the hard work of exposing the pipe myself and identified the exact point of the leak—it was spraying from a joint. I wasn’t equipped to do a full replacement or bypass, but I had found a joint repair clamp online for $49.99 that would have done the job. The only issue was it wouldn’t arrive until later that week, and I was hoping Roto-Rooter could either sell me the part sooner or offer a reasonably priced repair. The technician who arrived was friendly but seemed unsure of some of his responses. He confirmed that the part I found online was indeed the correct one, but claimed it was “very expensive… minimum $200–$300” from their supplier—and they didn’t have it on the truck. I even offered to buy the part from them at that inflated price just to get the job done quickly and affordably, as I couldn’t spend much on labor. Instead, he FaceTimed his manager and returned with two quotes: • $3,200 for a basic spot repair • $8,800 for a bypass No itemized breakdown, no price just for the part, and no attempt to work with the fact that I’d already done half the job. If their spot repair includes a $250 markup on a $50 clamp, that means they were quoting me nearly $2,950 for about 1–2 hours of labor on a pipe I had already exposed and prepped. Ultimately, I ended up fixing it myself—with the exact $49.99 clamp and a bit of guidance from ChatGPT. It took me less than 2 hours and cost me under $60 total. I get that companies charge for labor, overhead, and emergency responsiveness—but quoting over $3,000 for a $50 part and basic installation is wildly out of step with reasonable industry practices. It felt like they were hoping I’d panic and just say yes. If you’re in a pinch and looking for honest pricing, I’d recommend getting multiple quotes or doing a bit of DIY research before moving forward.

Greg was great. He helped me replace the external pipe using a clean ream tool. Originally, this part would have required cutting into the wall and could have cost me over a thousand dollars. But now, we just needed to grind off the old fitting and glue the new one on—it only took about half an hour. Saved a lot of time and money

Erik was very helpful and fast. He gave us some information that we didn't know and explained reasons for his advice. The person was very helpful, but the company would not let him give an invoice, but cashed the check immediately! We are still waiting for the invoice which the company said had to be reviewed before the invoice was issued to the payor. What a screwball way to do business
