These guys came out with a very short appointment window, unlike some of the other local places. Widdy and his other guy were really nice and efficient, and I think they did a great job. I wasn’t very pleased with the price. They bill $175 per hour, but they come in a pair and round up for each guy. Two guys for 40 minutes cost me $350 in labor, where not rounding up (or charging drive time?) would have been $234.50. There was a “truck charge” they hadn’t mentioned when I initially asked for their rates, and I believe there was a pretty hefty mark up on the parts. All in all, it was $513 to switch out a tub drain stopper and the short drain pipe under the tub. I removed the drywall and insulation and replaced that myself, so they didn’t have any time with access. Nice guys, nice job, just didn’t feel like the price was right.
The Redline Plumbing Team is fantastic. They’re quick, friendly and professional. I’ve used their services twice and will continue to do so. They’re also super nice to my dog so bonus points.
Do not do business with this company. I called the owner with a warranty issue on a water heater that had gone bad in a rental I own. He explained to me that I'd have to take care of the warranty myself but that someone could come by and switch out the water heater. The next day I got notification at 10:45am that the plumber was on the way. I never spoke with the plumber nor was I given any type of an estimate or price quote before he started work. At 12:49pm I got a call from the tenant saying that the plumber had finished (2 hours labor) and was demanding payment before he left. I had to call back and request through an answering service that I was the one paying for the service and to email me an invoice. I also requested to have the plumber call me because I needed to get info from the old water heater to process the warranty. No one called, so I finally called back the owner to get the cell phone of the service plumber. When I called him he said that he had already got rid of the old water heater (which I never told him to do). I explained to him that I needed the rating plate off of it to process the warranty. He tried to tell me that the rating plate had already been removed but that he could meet me to get it. When I meet him he tells me, good news! You're old heater was under warranty and I can get a new one using the warranty. What I'll do for you is take off the cost of the heater I just installed and I'll go pick up the new warranty heater and just keep it. About an hour later I get a (non-itemized) invoice for $1,300. I immediately called the plumber and asked what his hourly rate is? He said it was $206/hr. I asked then why the invoice was so high and how he came to that number? He was only at my house for two hours. He then tried to tell me that there were some small parts and the time for the disposal of the old heater (again... not authorized by me). I asked why the invoice wasn't itemized and he said that they don't do itemized invoices. I immediately called the owner who obviously didn't know that the tech had agreed with me to take the cost of the new water heater off the invoice in exchange for getting the new warranty heater. When I explained to him what was going on, he said he'd have to call his guy and then call me back. When he called me back he still didn't have any answers and reassured me that he'd get me an itemized invoice and get everything figured out. Well. This morning, instead of getting the itemized invoice he promised me, he calls me back and says I owe him $1,300 and then starts swearing at me. When I tried to ask questions as to how he came up with that price he just got more and more mad. He then said, we wouldn't be in this situation if you would have mentioned the warranty first. Are you serious? That was the first thing I mentioned when I called. I then texted him (because talking on the phone was not doing any good) and I told him I'd pay him for 2 hours of labor and a $200 disposal fee. He called me lame and said I should have called someone else. At this point I wish I would have called another plumber! I don't mind paying more for a good honest business I can trust. Do yourself a favor and stay clear of Redline Plumbing. Call someone else if you need plumbing work.
Widdy was super nice and explained everything, and fixed my plumbing issue the next day after I called them. I would definitely use them again.
