Landry prides itself on being the largest family-owned HVAC company in Central MA, but that means nothing if all their techs are just young and inexperienced. During the heat wave last week, our 3.5-year-old AC unit in our new construction home stopped working. We’re on the service contract and get maintenance every spring, but we’ve had issues with the AC not working every summer. We called Thursday night and two techs came Friday morning. They turned the breaker back on and the unit started running so they left - only for it to stop working less than an hour later. They came back Monday and the same thing happened. Even though we paid the $99 house call fee, they charged $480 for a “major diagnostic,” which turned out to be them calling manufacturer tech support and reading from a manual. They also charged a $100 fee just to check warranty coverage, even though the parts were in fact under warranty. Labor was not. They still couldn’t figure it out and offered two options: replace only the control board for $400 labor, or replace everything for over $1000 labor (control board, motor, etc.). Since they had no clear answer, we chose to replace only the control board. An hour after they left, the AC failed again. We called back, and this time they sent two different techs that were more “experienced” in working on Trane AC units. After hours of testing, they said it was the motor/blower. Replacing it would take 2–3 days for the part to arrive and cost another $765 in labor. We reluctantly paid the deposit for them to order the part after already spending thousands on their guesswork. Days went by without any update. Meanwhile, we had a sick baby at home during a heat wave and kept calling, but no one got back to us. Only after complaining on Monday did they say the part was in (even though it was supposedly ordered the prior Tuesday). They replaced it the next day and finally the system worked. They are so quick to upsell you on something (they tried selling us the service contract even though we’re already on it, which just shows how not diligent they are and how unfamiliar they are with their customers, because a simple look at our file would show the maintenance and repairs we’ve had regularly since moving in). They’re better salespeople than technicians, and seem to navigate the iPads better than they can actually fix an AC unit. Over $1800 later and a whole week without AC in a heatwave due to inexperienced people. Look elsewhere for your HVAC needs. The entire experience was frustrating, expensive, and lacked transparency. We felt like they were just guessing at our expense, piling on fees without solving the problem.

Landry was quick to respond and set up a quick turn around for the actual appointment. The tech that worked with me and on my project was fast, courteous and resourceful. He communicated well in person and through text. I was very impressed with his professionalism. Great company and pricing was definitely helpful, too.

We had Landry install a new heat pump and automatic dampers to zone the house. They were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Their salesperson was the most professional and informed of all the salespeople we worked with. He was very patient and answered all of our questions (and believe me, I asked a lot of questions). The install crew was also very professional, explaining what they were doing along the way and also answering all of our questions. The kept the workspace very clean and treated our house like it was their own. Once complete, they set up the system, including the thermostats and thoroughly explained how to use everything. There was an issue with the one of the dampers and they would not accept payment and would not leave until the system was working perfectly. I would use them again for any future work and would recommend to others. Thank you for working with us through the process and we are ecstatic with our new heat pump!

I had an urgent need for assistance with installing a new tankless hot water tank in my RV, and this company immediately dispatched help. Two gentlemen, Alex and Larry, arrived promptly and were both incredibly friendly and professional. What stood out most was their honesty, after reviewing the project, they explained that they weren’t comfortable installing the tank on an RV, as it wasn’t within their scope of expertise. While they didn’t perform the work, I truly appreciated their transparency rather than attempting something they weren’t confident about. It’s rare to find a company that prioritizes integrity over making a quick buck, and that’s exactly what they did. I wouldn’t hesitate to call them again for any plumbing needs in the future. What a professional company! Highly recommend. Blown away by the response time and fix on our oil burner issue. Called at 2 on a Friday afternoon and by 7:00 we had a tech at our house, problem diagnosed and fixed. I felt bad because it was late on a Summer Friday night. The tech was so courteous and professional the whole time. Landry clearly runs a superior company with happy employees, that are well stocked and knowledgeable about everything. I will call them for everything from now on.
