David and Jose with High 5 did a fantastic job with my French drain. David explained the whole process and what would be involved. There was an obstruction about 15 feet from where it enters the ground at an artificial stream made of river rock. David used a scope with a camera to locate the obstruction, which turned out to be tree roots. The white piping that was originally used was of poor quality so I opted to replace all of the piping, about 30+ feet of it. David and Jose worked for 8 hours removing all the river rock, placing new piping and then replacing the river rock. When they were finished there was absolutely no mess leftover. They took all of the old piping with them when they left, yay!! I can highly recommend High 5 and will be using them again.
They increased from 1 star to 2 stars but not for me and I suggest that you be cautious also. Started with the phone call to set appointment after hearing about AC tune up for 79.00 on the radio. The young man had to check but verified it was still good. As we continued to set the appointment he told me there was a 49.00 service fee but that could be applied towards a repair. After going around in circles 3 or 4 times he confirmed that my 79.00 service special was going to be 128.00 so I cancelled. Received a call back from the young man saying they were waiving the service fee so we reinstated the appointment which was the next day between 8 and 10 am, so quick. I was told they would give me a 30 min or longer notice of the technician being on the way. I arranged my schedule and was present from 8 to 10:45am without hearing anything from High Five other than another welcome to the family email at 10:12am. At 11:25am I received a call saying they realized they were late and asking if they could still come. I explained that I know things happen but with no communication and how the whole process has gone to this point, no, I would find another company. The woman was polite saying thank you. I received another call from a different woman and I explained the two pieces and that based on my experience of things starting that way I was going to find someone else. She told me that they had waived the service fee (which I knew ) and was offering an additional discount. I still said no but my compliments for them trying to regain the business but not arguing or being unprofessional other than not showing up or communicating until 1:25 min after the scheduled window.
Ben was absolutely great. My house is a funky 1910s house that has gone through several renovations and additions that weren’t all done by a professional. Ben was able to fix my closet lighting and outlet in a way that was safe and functional. He provided updates throughout the time he was there. Ben also provided much love to my needy dog. I definitely would go to high 5 again!
Extremely Disappointed – Repeated Issues and Unprofessional Service I rarely leave reviews, but after multiple frustrating and unacceptable experiences with this HVAC company, I feel it’s necessary to warn others. We’ve had repeated issues with both our furnace and AC. The furnace was serviced twice incorrectly, which caused our thermostat to reset itself at least once every hour. When we attempted to schedule AC service, we were initially told they weren’t servicing AC units yet. When we called back during the actual service window, we were told the next available appointment was two weeks out. When a technician named Eric finally showed up, the experience was shockingly unprofessional. He refused to listen to my explanation about the thermostat issues, dismissed the video I had that clearly demonstrated the problem, and reset all of our thermostat settings without resolving anything. He claimed—without logic—that running the fan for 30 minutes to circulate air was the reason for the thermostat resets (turns out it was a wifi connection issue). What made it even worse was his attitude. When I questioned his reasoning, he flat-out refused to speak with me because he claimed I wasn’t the homeowner. In fact, I am the homeowner. My boyfriend, who owns the other side of the building, set up the account and informed their office multiple times of our ownership arrangement. Eric simply couldn’t (or wouldn’t) understand that. To top it all off, he had the nerve to talk poorly about me to his office while standing on my own doorstep. HE CALLED ME A DOG! (Video included “nah, she’s a dog, yeah”) The level of disrespect and incompetence is beyond unacceptable. They showed up, insulted me, and had the nerve to bill us for services that were never completed. This company has only made our HVAC issues worse, not better. Between the dismissive attitude, poor communication, and lack of technical skill, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for HVAC service.
Scheduling was easy but no one showed up for our appointment window and although we received a text message about the delay we finally had to call them to find out no one could make it that day. Not a big deal except there is a $50 service fee for coming out which we were charged so I felt like this should have then been waived. More so because our tenants had to be the ones available taking valuable time away from their day. Technician was professional but the prices are not reasonable as some of the reviews state- $350 to replace a one pole breaker! Yikes. $3000 quote just to map out my breaker panel! Double Yikes. $2700+ to run a new line for a large wattage appliance. Disappointed this isn’t the experience I was expecting and won’t be my new go to moving forward.
