Dauenhauer Plumbing Heating Air & Electric

Called these guys after purchasing a new to me home for slow draining toilets and tub. Technicians came out, didn't even go in the main bathroom that was having issues and said they needed to remove the toilet in the spare bathroom to scope it with a camera and run an auger to clear any clogs, said they would also clear the vents on the roof, which they did not even get on the roof. Techs said clog was cleared and there is a "flat spot" in the main drain where it enters the septic. 4 days later and same issues are back. I call this company and they inform me the techs did not put in the report that they did anything and that they provided us an estimate for excavating the flat pipe. This is a lie, the technicians never said anything to us other than everything is good to go, maybe just flush twice to get over the "flat spot". They never provided any estimates or informed us of further issues. They also went out to look where the septic area was using a tracer, so I assume they would have looked at the pipe. I called another company out, within 5 minutes they discovered my main sewage line to the septic had been cut with a saw not a "flat spot" inside the pipe. I am beyond frustrated with Dauenhauer, two technicians and this was overlooked, we were lied to, and told nothing else to worry about. I hope to hear from customer relations, I want a full refund for the work that was NOT performed. I will never recommend this company, the overall lack of diligence and respect from these technicians actions paint an awful picture of this company.

Update: Dauenhauer reached out to me after leaving this review and they said they were sorry and wanted to make it right. They sent an amazing plumber that knew exactly how to fix the issues that were created the first time around. In just a few hours they had everything fixed and now we're ready for the next step in finishing our basement. Special shout out to Ron, Austin, and Brooke for making things right. Original Review: My husband and I are finishing our basement and wanted a reputable company to do the plumbing to ensure a quality job. Unfortunately, after thousands of dollars spent that is not what we have received. We now have now problems that we didn't have to begin with. The first mistake our plumber made was plumb our tub for a stand up shower. He said he would fix it and we were very patient and said no problem he did not fix it and instead installed the tub anyway. He cut a huge hole into the side wall of our $700 tub/shower wall in the wrong place and made it off center at that. Also instead of properly roughing the tub drain he decided to just place the tub off center, not flush or against the framing like it should be and then told us we were going to have to have a framing company come fix the problem he created. I will attach all pictures. I called Dauenhauer all day today to speak with someone and the representative just kept telling me someone would call back to help fix the situation. No one has called. We were supposed to be starting the drywall stage of our basement next week this will definitely be pushed back and will cost us who knows how much more money to fix. Please learn from our mistake and don't waste your time or money on a company that doesn't make quality or customer service a priority.

I called Dauenhauer on Monday, August 11 at 7 AM when they opened one of the few plumbers in Louisville area who list their office hours at 7 AM and a real person answer the phone. I made an appointment same day between 10 and 2 to have a simple toilet repair which would take all of 10 minutes in fact I’ve done it before myself I just didn’t have time to do at this time. I told the young lady I would not be available till noon but I would be here from noon to 2 and I was actually here at 11:45 and at 1:45 I had not heard from Dauenhauer so I called and explained that unless someone was working next-door they were gonna be late and I had not received a call from a technician. In addition to that I had to call back to a second dispatcher. bottom line is my time is as valuable and quite frankly more valuable than Dauenhauer technician. if he was going to be late he should’ve let dispatch know and let me know and I would’ve had the option of rescheduling at that point in fact later I didn’t have the option rescheduling but when I had been waiting 3 1/2 hours I went ahead and had the work done by a very nice substitute tech named Matt who was not the original technician an hour and 20 minutes past the deadline of 2 o’clock. I may sound a stickler about appointments but there’s no need having them if you don’t plan to keep them and this was my first using Dauenhauer . I think they’re very reputable company and I’ll give them one more shot but there’s too many plumbers to work this hard to give someone your money. give your word and keep it and again it took Matt less than 10 minutes to repair the toilet once he arrived here and $289 later he was on his way. that being said if you’re running late you need to call both your employer and the customer and neither one of those happened. the customer had to call your employer twice. Therefore I’m being generous with 4 stars!!

We had to have all of the pipes replaced in our house. The guys who came out were efficient and good to keep us updated on everything going on. They were able to get the work done in 2 days! Very grateful for that! Everyone we dealt with from Daunhauer were very nice and helpful! I also feel the cost of the job was fair. I definitely recommend them!

I have had an awful experience working with Dauenhauer over 2 weeks in the heat of July. They diagnosed that I needed a new evaporator coil in my attic unit, arrived to install it, took apart the unit before realizing the had the wrong part with them 🤷🏼‍♂️. Told me they'd be back in 2 days to fix it. they get back to install it. It works for about 6 hours before it starts freezing up again. this time though they had changed the drain configuration without consulting with me (we have a condensate pump installed by another vendor). They also moved the drip pan during this change, effectively making it useless, as now when the coil and lines freeze they drip onto my ceiling. I called them back to get them back out to fix their mistake, and they just told me their next available appointment is a week out and there's no wait list for cancellations etc. I called another company and they won't touch it because of warranty and liability issues. So here I am, just hot. angry, and a dauenhauer customer by no choice of my own at this point.
