I was referred to American Services Plumbing because I needed a Radon-certified plumber after our basement flooded. We had work done in two areas: one indoor and one outdoor. The indoor work went fine. The outdoor sump pump installation was done while my husband and I were out of town, and we paid in full before returning home. When we got back, we discovered the sump pump had likely been running continuously for up to eight days. A connector had come loose, and water was being cycled back into the pit nonstop. The plumber came back out, admitted he should have replaced the connector originally, and fixed it along with two others. Then, just one day later, it rained and the pump failed completely. It wasn’t kicking on, and water was pooling in the pit. They responded quickly again, which I appreciated, and the same plumber removed a return valve that had gotten stuck. Later, I was told that return valve never should have been installed in the first place. At that point, I had completely lost confidence in the quality of work. I spoke with someone from their office who was kind said she would investigate. But when I asked if anything would be done to make it right, such as an apology from management or a partial refund, I was told the matter was closed. The quick response time was the only positive. But multiple preventable mistakes were made, and each was only acknowledged after something went wrong. I trusted this company enough to pay in full before seeing the work, and I regret that. I would not recommend them.

We used this company for a new and installed water heater. They were on time and finished in a reasonable time. Ramon was our service tech. He was absolutely a wonderful example for this company. He was friendly, knowledgeable, answered any questions we had, explained our new water heater and told us about a membership they offer. The membership is a great deal and peace of mind. We will do it. I would highly recommend this company and Ramon. The office personnel are also easy to work with.

I had an entire A/C and furnace system replaced. Ramon was on time, respectful, knowledgeable, and got the job done in a timely manner. The conditions were less than ideal since my A/C unit was out and it was the hottest day of the year so far, but he did not complain and did the job with a positive attitude. He also ensured everything was in working order once the new system was installed, and asked if I had any questions or concerns. I would recommend Ramon for future services.

I've never seen them check any of the safety devices on the furnace. Last time they were here it was just a fuse that vibrated out. I kept telling him to turn the AC on but he screwed around showing some kid. Didn't clear the filters, said the condenser was dirty, but about 6 weeks before another person did the spring check up. How come he didn't clean it? He said the AC compressor was cycling on the internal overloads and was basically dead. That was in May, it's the end of August and it's still working just fine.. He wasn't smart enough to know that the condenser had a time delay before starting again. They wanted an OLD MAN to think it was going to die and for $3200 sell me a new condenser

When our 18-year-old AC went out in the middle of a heat wave, Josh Markelionis with American came out to diagnose it. He spent hours and tried a bunch of different things to get it repaired but the system was kaput.. They were able to get a new system delivered the next day, and despite literal torrential downpours Josh came back to install it. They worked all day and Josh was there past 8 PM to get it running just so we could sleep with air conditioning that night, and then came back again early the next day to install the furnace. Everything was installed and closed up very cleanly and the new system works great. We’ve used American before for service calls on the old system and even after hours they’re prompt and very reasonable.
