Sims & Sons Electric and Plumbing

Hands down, Darrell (owner of Sims & Sons Electric and Plumbing) is awesome. He really is a knowledgeable and trustworthy electrician and great friend that's amazing at what he does, and keeps on being his normal fun self while he's working, and keeps you informed of what's going on the whole time—which somehow he knows to do so only when you actually want to hear it! The Pros: I sent him a text in the middle of the night to ask him when he would have time to install an outdoor fan/outdoor light fixture for my mom. He called back no more than 10 seconds, we talked for a minute and he was on his way. Not only did he drive out to the Lincoln Square neighborhood in Chicago (at least a 30 min drive for him) in the middle of the night, he also: 1) Added a new light/fan switch, 2) Added a new electrical outlet about 3 feet beneath the switch 3) Her home was built with bad wiring, which we knew about, so he fixed the faulty wiring and faulty ground wire inside and outside, 4) He added outdoor covers for the electrical outlet and switch. 5) The fan/light switch I bought from Home Depot wouldn't work with the outdoor fan I got her (which was likely a Temu fan resold on Amazon) and with it being 1am at that point, there was no hardware store open near by. So he checked his truck and found a really nice one that worked perfectly which he didn't charge us for, saving me almost $100 right there. 6) He was extra careful with my moms Christmas-like lighting she has wrapped around the porch. He installed the conduit right behind them to blend in and was very careful not to damage a thing. 7) There were a couple of smaller tasks my mom needed done in the house that she didn't mention until right before she went to bed so Darrell had his brother Dylan (another awesome guy & electrician) come out the next day to fix up whatever she needed done. The Cons: He accepted my offer when I asked if he wanted a coffee from Dunkin' 😒 (lol) Since then, we scheduled him to do the whole home rewiring, electrical service upgrade and panel upgrade in September, which I'm sure will come out perfectly as well. Highly recommended, always highly impressed, and everyone I know always speak highly of him, his team and their work—including myself. I wouldn't call anyone else. You guys are awesome, thank you!

Darrell from Sims and Sons has always delivered excellent service. He and his team have done a wonderful job helping withthe installations of new outlets, lighting, and smart home integration at my home. We recently asked Darrell to help install outlets in the bathrooms of my mother's apartment so that we could conveniently plug in bidets. He was very quick and efficient in throughout the job and communication was easy; Darrell understood exactly what we wanted and made sure that we were aware of how he was going to implement a solution. I highly recommend Darrell and his team's services if you have any electrical problem or improvements you have been seeking help for.

I had an issue with a light fixture. A member of the Sims & Sons team came and after evaluating the light he was able to make an adjustment and fixed it immediately. He didn’t charge me! I couldn’t believe it….so professional and helpful. Would highly recommend using their services.

We could not be more grateful for the Sims and Sons team. We had water damage to our circuit breaker that required a full replacement urgently. The team came out extremely quickly to assess the situation, and had a wonderful group out to fix the problem expediently (in fact, they had the job DONE before any other company could even complete an accurate assessment for us.. and before two even called us back)! The weather damage that caused us to need an electrician was extensive, but they took extra caution and a LOT of time to leave our home in significantly better shape than it was before they came, even taking steps to clear off our roof and add additional seal to keep us safe from the elements moving forward. I found all interactions with every member of the team to be respectful, kind, and responsive. Having any amount of work done on your home is stressful, especially when it’s a significant repair, and they made the process as stress-free as possible. Many thanks to Darrell, Kemal, Dylan, Slobadan, and Muo for your spectacular work. Sims and Sons will be our go-to for all future concerns, and I highly recommend them for any job that needs done.

Darrell is simply the best! His team is trustworthy and they do absolutely excellent work. He was so easy to work with and communicated the entire process. They not only did excellent work but cleaned up so well it looked like nothing had been done. We highly recommend!
