UPDATE: The lead Supervisor Chance and his assistant did a great job repairing the broken sump pump drain pipe. The job estimate ended up exactly as I was originally quoted, and I received a courtesy call from Chance to keep Roto-Rooter posted on how the repair holds up with the next torrential storm that comes through my area.
The technician, Hayden, was prompt, highly qualified and professional. He respected the sanitation of my house by wearing foot protection and he left the work area clean…as if he were never there! Twice now, I've seen how they work. To start with, they know exactly by ZIP code where the tough old houses are going to be. So what do they do? They send the new-guy trainee for the first hour for $190. He will not be able to succeed, and will spend a lot of time on the phone asking his supervisor questions. So then we go into hour two - and an additional charge $$$. The supervisor will show up and do the job properly and quickly. You know- the quality of work you THOUGHT you were paying for in Hour 1. So in essence, you are paying an extra $190 to help pad their pockets and train their new employees. My last time using Roto Router. Next time I will go with an independent shop and pay the $250 to get it done right in the first hour.
