GEM Plumbing and Heating sent over Eric and Sam to install a brand new 90,000BTU On demand water heating system in my house. The crew did a fantastic job piecing this together and making it compact, efficient, and absolutely beautiful to the eye. I do catch myself walking by and just staring at all the brass and copper piping put together; it's impressive work... Especially being upgraded from a 30-year old system. GEM provides top tier work and has excellent customer service to address your concerns and requests for installation. My house was up and running with heat from a completely failed older system within 48hrs. Day 1 had a technician diagnose and offer suggestions.. the following Day on Day 2, the crew was here removing everything and installing the new system. Done same day. 👍 Remarkable quality and speed, I highly recommend GEM.

I have used GEM before and loved their service and price expectation. On this occasion I hired them to change out a kitchen faucet that I had already bought and they were going to charge me $800. Unfortunately this seemed very steep and I had to decline. This job was under an hour and everything already fit precisely. Just a swap out. I anticipated $500 but not $800. I wish they gave me an estimate before coming out. I still paid their service fee of $149 for coming.

Extremely angry at the fact that their A/C tech took advantage of a situation..I had to go to work and my wife was home when he arrived over an hour later than they projected. He (Jason C) never told her much it was going cost to change a Capacitor on a Amana A/C condenser. He changed it, gave her the bill and left! We expected $150 service fee, but the whole bill came out to $1010!! For 15 minutes of work, for a Capacitor that costs $16 on Amazon or $31 at Ace Hardware… the exact same Capacitor! That is a huge mark up and completely unnecessary on taking advantage of a woman. If he would have told her how much it was going to cost? She would’ve said absolutely not, I have called to complain and spoke to a Shirley (she was nice!) but so far nothing has come out of this situation. I will be contacting the BBB and maybe even go further. I have noticed that on many reviews this has happened before to many people that deal with GEM, they completely lost my trust and respect and of course my business. I will not stop until this is resolved! I will rewrite my review every day if I have too! This can’t happen again and should not happen to people who put their trust in a business that supposedly has integrity. It’s been 2 weeks now! And yet No Manager has called to explain the reason for such a high cost, I will keep updates coming.
