Requested a consultation through Home depot around 730 am and got a call back from Bahr Plumbing services right after 8 am. Explained my issues with my hot water heater- Erica was understanding and very knowledgeable about what to offer and came back with three quotes to give me options. I had to call back to discuss with my husband and Erica was extremely patient and even told me that there were openings today, but they may be gone by the time I call back, but they would accommodate me on my traveling schedule. She was great through the whole process. Once the appointment was set it wasn't even a full hour before were getting a call from the installers that they were 20 mins away. I wish I got the names of the installers, but they were excellent as well, kind polite, and left the area they were working in clean. They were time efficient as well, not even two hours and everything was complete. I would highly recommend this company to any of my friends or family.
I ordered a new hot water heater from Home Depot and DW Bahr Plumbing was the contractor. I was surprised that they came out the same day to connect the water heater. They were professional, fast, and explained the work. I'll keep them in mind for future work.
Terrible service and customer support. I've removed names to respect the privacy of the persons employed by this company. The full story: Home Depot contracted this company the end of May 2025 to install a toilet I purchased. Home Depot says they'll contact you within 48-hours. They never did, I contacted them on day 3. *Bad Customer service* They then said it would be almost two weeks before they could come out to install the toilet. I asked if there was anything sooner or if I could contact a different company. (person working operations) told me "no, we're the only company Home Depot contracts for plumbing services in the state of Maryland." *Bad Service* I also brought this statement to the attention of Home Depot already. The day they show up, after 2-minutes (person on ground) realizes that I purchased the wrong size toilet. Tells me that they'll submit the paperwork and issue the refund and nothing else was needed on my part; they were in/out of the house in 5-minutes. I would encourage (person managing their operations), when scheduling the service, to do a quick check with the customer "can you measure x,y,z to ensure you have the right size" for quality control purposes. I doubt they will, because it will ultimately affect their bottom line for reasons I'll explain later. *Bad Customer Support / Quality Assurance* I go back to Home Depot and purchase the correct toilet, per (person on ground) instructions and within an hour I contact Bahr Plumbing back to see if he can come back today to install (my time slot was 12:00 - 4:00, I called back at 1:20). Their operations desk response was "I'm sorry, you'll have to wait until tomorrow until (insert operations person name here) is back in the office." Odd, that your business can not function when a singular person is not in the office - that's an issue. *Bad Service* I call back the next morning at 8:00, asking the same question - can I have someone come back out to install? "Yeah, we're waiting on (person on ground) to submit the paperwork - we'll call you back later." They didn't... I called back 4-hours later after 12:00. *Bad Customer Support - Quality Control* Their response was yes, we can get someone back out there - but *first* you have to pay a $100 service charge for their lost time. Excuse me?! (Person on Ground) was at my house for all of 2-5 minutes, I purchased the correct toilet as instructed within an hour, I called your company back and was told I had to wait until the next day before re-scheduling. Not (person on ground) or their operations desk ever mentioned a $100 charge... this was the first time (for a $219 dollar service fee, mind you - that's a 47% charge of the original service cost for a their lost time that I made every effort to resolve the day prior within my original service time). This was the first time a $100 charge was mentioned despite me speaking with (person on ground) and (person managing operations) the day prior. *Terrible Customer Support - Service* Home Depot issued a refund (subtracting a $100 charge) from my total amount returned; despite this not being mentioned anywhere in it's provided license agreement or its Maryland Supplement. Home Depot are now trying to resolve this matter with BW Bahr prior to me filing a formal mediation of this dispute with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission and BW Bahr's Master Plumber/Gas Fitter License (#7393). I hope my actions and this review will either protect others from this company *or* allow this company to positively adjust their business practices. Some might think this is a bit much for $100, but some customers place a lot of weight on a company's business practices and ethics. Per their own mission statement "We deliver every customer a person level of service unmatched by our competitors. Our reputation for quality and dependable service is #1 on our list, and carries our business every day." Do better.
Went through Home Depot and purchased a new water heater through them. Scheduled same day it arrived for following day and completed work in excellent time around my schedule. Also was cheaper then 4 other quotes.
Our family bought a water heater through The Home Depot to be installed by D.W Bahr, I spoke with Erica in the office , she was very professional and informative on the product/installation which made the process really easy. I felt very comfortable with my Decision to go with her quote especially considering the price was much lower than other plumbing companies. They sent someone out the same day and did a great job. Very happy with the workmanship and customer service I was provided. I would highly recommend using them for your water heater needs.
