I had chosen BelRed to install a 2-head 1-Pump minisplit system because my neighbor seemed to have had a great experience with them. After getting a quote and working in some rebates it came to a decent price for the system. Unfortunately the installation was done terribly. After having talked to the person who came to inspect and give us a quote and them having taken many pictures and notes we discussed how the system should be installed and seemed like we came to an agreement. The Bad: -THE SYSTEM OUTRIGHT DID NOT WORK, and took three service visits to repair. Spitting water, failing to cool. all the while the people servicing the system were commenting how bad the drywall job was and how poor the routing on the exterior of the house was. -Electrician was not prepared and destroyed the wall. The electrician seemed annoyed that he had to run wires through the wall, even though it's what was discussed before the job was agreed to. He didn't show up with the right tools and ended up mutilating the wall leaving me with a mount of masking tape on the wall to slap it back together. It's as if no one told him what the job was before he showed up. -Exterior routing is a mess and not what was discussed. the install crew had an example of previous BelRed work on the unit mirroring mine and though we were home all day, we were never consulted on what the plan was. -My complaints were pretty much ignored after the job was over. The Good: -Response time for system servicing was generally next day. -The system worked eventually. -The rebates for the Mitsubishi system were pretty handsome but I doubt that has much to do with the company.
Great service from the very start. An actual person answered my call, she was warm, friendly and knowledgeable and got me an appt to have my very old furnace inspected. She put me on a waitlist for an earlier appt and they came out a few days later. Their text communication is perfect, telling who was coming, even a picture, and when they would arrive. The tech was very professional and helped me choose the best system for my needs and got me scheduled right away. The install went great, the guys were friendly, professional and respectful of my house space, and done in no time. I highly recommend BelRed for your furnace needs. Thank you BelRed!
Let me start by saying we had a wonderful experience with BelRed Heating Cooling Plumbing and Electrical. Let me explain further. In the fall of 2023, we found our 32 year old heat pump had lost it's R-22 refrigerant and couldn't be legally recharged. So it was time for a new one. We went through the winter well with just a gas furnace, but the long hot spell in the summer of '24 made us realize we should replace it before summer of '25. So, I called BelRed (now part of the Gene Johnson group) on Thursday having seen an add on TV, as well as scheduling estimates from two other companies to replace both the 32-year-old Carrier heat pump and the 31-year-old Carrier gas furnace. I got an appointment with BelRed the same day. Sales rep Francisco came out and spent 3 hours measuring carefully the requirements and specifying a new system that would fit our needs. He carefully explained the estimate to us and explained how his team would take care of everything and do a top notch install. After examining the three estimates we decided on Wednesday that BelRed was the proposal we wanted to go with. On Friday, two days, later Nick P. came out and did a thorough preinstallation site review and said the installation crew would be out on Monday, beginning the two-day installation. This really assured us that the system would be correctly installed. On Monday, Branden D. and Daven E. began the installation with some assistance from Nick P. as well. Brandon was so thorough and knowledgeable and explained what was going on very clearly. By the end of the day, they completed a beautiful install of all system components except charging of the system and the electrical hookup. The systems really looked sharp with the new heat pump, gas furnace, all new sheet metal, and the new cooper lines between the outside heat pump and the internal condenser, something the other companies did not do. On the previous installation, the copper lines on the outside of the house were exposed. Not now as they housed them in a special routing channel that looks very appealing. Brandon even upgraded the filter system at no additional cost. The permits with the city of Bellevue were all handled by RedRed. Beautiful job Brandon and crew. On Tuesday morning Aaron and Metier S. did all the electrical work. It was quite a major undertaking with replacement of junction boxes, breakers, addition of an outside outlet and hooking the electrical up. They found a bit of shoddy workmanship in the prior install which they corrected and provided clear labels on the electrical panel. Brandon has warned them of this. Later that afternoon, Todd P. and Kyle G. came to charge the system with the new R-456B refrigerant (this replaces the older R-411A and is mandatory after 2025), run diagnostics, hook up the new smart thermostat and thoroughly explain the operation of the system to us. Very clearly explained. The system has worked well and we are so pleased. BedRed scheduled the Bellevue electrical and mechanical inspections on Friday and both passed with the inspectors comment on what a professional job the installers had done. I should mention that all the 8 persons we were involved with for this installation were very professional, but also easy to talk to and took the time to answer all our questions. Their communication by email, text and phone call was amazing. We knew what was happening and when at all times. Great communication as a company Now all we have left is to enjoy the system throughout the coming years. Franciso said the installation team was top notch and we totally agree. Great work everyone! They acknowledged the miscommunications, thoroughly investigated the discrepancies, and worked tirelessly to correct the issues. They replaced the air filtration system with the exact top-of-the-line model I was originally sold, ensured all promised features were included, and even went above and beyond in making sure my HVAC system was performing at its best. The customer service has been completely transformed—scheduling was smooth, communication was prompt, and I no longer had to chase down updates. The office team was responsive and proactive, ensuring that all concerns were not just heard but acted upon. The technicians remained outstanding throughout the process, and with the improvements to the office and management side, my experience with BelRed is now what I had originally hoped for. I’m bumping this review to 5 stars because of their commitment to making things right and showing that they genuinely care about their customers. It’s rare to see a company take this level of accountability, and they’ve earned my respect. Highly recommended!
