Brent Crow of Natchez Corp. was the inspector when we bought our house in Newburgh, IN. He did a great job in forcing the realtor Keller Williams - Casey McCoy to make the fixes the seller had agreed to. We bought a house built in the 1970s that had a long list of fixes that needed to be done. The seller with aid from Keller Williams insisted on choosing their contractors for the fixes. This was after the long list of fixes that we asked for was negotiated down in a compromise. Upright Construction did most of the fixes, like supporting the main floor joist in the crawl space, in order to stop future floor sagging, while it was still minimal. They did this incorrectly on several occasions and Brent put in extra work on reinspections that he didnt even charge us for. This process took two months to complete, which is a bad reflection on Upright. Upright also did the roof fix and soffit vent fixes incorrectly on first attempts, Brent forced them to do it right. Word to the wise: if you buy an older house with a lot of issues, make the seller pay you cash for what is compromised out, and choose your own contractors for the fixes. Also, you should definitely try to avoid the situation where the real estate agency represents both sides. We responded to a quick sell Open House situation, and bid with escalation clauses. We won the bid and they used up every bit of our ceiling dollar limit, and said we only won by a dollar. I do not believe that. Also, the appraisal conveniently came in just a few dollars more than our higher than normal buying price.. we liked the junior K-W guy, but felt that his management controlled the game.

The owner Bob is very nice guy and always worked hard to earn my business. His son is a different story. Given the fact that Bob is very old and does no work anymore himself, this company is going to fail. As a landlord and property owner who has been doing business with them for years, I’m very sad to see the direction of the company and their non-responsive disastrous operation of it.
