Keith from Apollo did a wonderful job today on our annual plumbing inspection. He was friendly and personable. He made sure to fully explain what was being done, why and answer all questions. We really appreciate these inspections. They make us feel much more secure about the plumbing in our home.

Braden and Alex arrived when they said they would. They knew what they were to do, but asked me what my thoughts were also. They checked in with me periodically to let me know how things were going. I really appreciated that. They were friendly all the long, hot day. Due to the extraordinary heat, my garage was stifling. But they worked on. When they were finished, they showed me my new appliances and explained how they worked. These two young men were a pleasure to be around.

Called Apollo this morning to address HVAC requests made by the potential buyer of our home. Apollo was extremely responsive and sent crews to evaluate and repair as needed. Ricky evaluated our furnace and piping and made needed repairs. Ricky was professional, knowledgeable, and completed the work in timely manner and for a fair price. Highly recommend Apollo and their great staff!

I booked an appointment with Apollo due to my AC blowing warm air. The tech was on time, informative, and able to diagnose a bad capacitor promptly. What started out as a good visit quickly turned sour when starting the billing process. The price was significantly higher than expected. The tech stated that he didn't have an exact match for the capacitor but installed the turbo version for $650 plus about $300 in labor for the diagnosis and install. He stated that using the non turbo capacitor would save about $100 but would incur an extra service charge for having to come back which would make it a wash. A replacement for the capacitor can be found from multiple distributors online and locally for about $25. I asked the tech to send me an estimate for what they would sell it for to make sure I was understanding things correctly and it stated they charge $521. Some markup is to be expected as businesses are in it to make money, but a markup of more than 20x is exploitative, if not predatory. Fortunately the tech didn't push back when I declined the work. He had already installed it, but replaced it with the original faulty capacitor. In the end I wound up paying $95 for approximately 30 minutes of diagnosing the problem (plus another other 30 of fixing and reverting it) which I find fair. With the issue identified, I was able to get estimates of $140 and $175 from other companies for parts and labor.
