Al Coronado Plumbing offers various plumbing services, including faucet installation, line snaking, and water heater replacement, with technicians like Briar, Kenny, and Charles providing honest and professional work, although some customers have reported issues with pricing and warranty claims.
Al Coronado Plumbing is a Tucson-based plumbing company that provides a range of services, including kitchen and bathroom remodeling, faucet installation, and water heater replacement. Their technicians, such as Briar, Kenny, and Charles, have been praised for their honesty, professionalism, and courtesy. However, some customers have reported issues with the company's pricing, including a $129 trip fee and attempts to upsell unnecessary services.
The company's technicians have been known to provide accurate diagnoses and recommendations, even if it means not selling a particular service. For example, Briar told a customer that snaking a line would be a waste of money, given the underlying issue with their septic system.
While some customers have reported positive experiences with the company's timely response and professionalism, others have raised concerns about the company's warranty claims and customer service.

After getting a jaw-dropping $577 quote from Al Coronado Plumbing to install our kitchen faucet (which we supplied), we called a different plumbing company. That company arrived on time, worked efficiently, and replaced the faucet in just 20 minutes—no unnecessary valve replacements, no upselling, just honest service. The technician was professional, and the final cost matched the original quote of $225. In contrast, Al Coronado charged a $129 trip fee, tried to claim our valves were corroded (they weren’t), and only backed down on the price after we pushed back hard. Their excuse? More trucks to pay for. Their plumbing tech even seemed confused about the difference between plumber's tape and corrosion—an alarming red flag. Neighbors and folks we've talked with about this experience have all said they thought "trip fees" went out long ago - clearly not. We do not recommend Al Coronado Plumbing and will never use them again. UPDATE: After a lengthy 30-minute phone call with Al Coronado’s son regarding our concerns—particularly around what we felt was price gouging—we did receive a refund of the $129 service fee. While we appreciate the gesture and acknowledge that refunding the fee shows some level of accountability, the conversation itself felt more focused on protecting the company’s reputation and ensuring profitability (he mentioned a minimum 15% return) than genuinely listening to our concerns. It’s good business to make things right, but great business is built on truly listening to customers—not just managing reviews.
I was able to make an appointment right away. Briar came to my house. He was very pleasant and very knowledgeable. I thought I had a blocked line, but he told me the backup had to do with my septic system. Once he made that determination, he told me he could still still snake the line but it would be a waste of my money to do so. The honesty was great. He didn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need. Very grateful. I would definitely call them again.
Kenny was great today! Very nice guy, helpful and informative. Unfortunately our issue was one that cannot be resolved by a plumber but he has given us information on how best to pursue a solution. Also, we have been very pleased over time with the timely response of Al Coronado Plumbing.
Paid $33,000 to have a bathroom remodeled for my husband who had a massive stroke and was paralyzed on the left. They did not do the job correctly now I'm having issues and they will not fix the problem. The job took them longer than they said one of the workers jackhammered through the wall into a bedroom had to have that patched up. We supplied the tile for the floor they did that incorrectly. They want to give you the runaround and say Al is retiring and he can't speak with you although he's the one that did the job. Buyer beware do not go through this company. They do not stand by their warranty and what they say. got a call back from Andrew Coronado, who was an extremely rude condescending said he was going to do nothing to fix the problem because he saw my review and Al wants to honor his retirement. Do not go through this company. All they want is your money and do not want to fix anything. They do not care about customer service.I do not want them back in my house ever again.🤬
After arriving home from work I came into my garage and found that my water heater was leaking. Called Al Coronado Plumbing and was immediately put in touch with Charles. He arrived within 30 minutes and assessed rhe situation. It was determined that i needed a new water heater which was under warranty. Informed me how it will be installed in a way which is accessible for routine maintenance and safe from further water damage. He took the time to answer all my questions in regards to price and promptly gave a quote of all services. He was very professional and courteous. Thank you Charles and Al Coronado Plumbing. Look forward to working with you and your company moving forward.
