Jean came to my house and successfully installed a 42,000 BTU - four zone, mini-split system that will provide both air conditioning and heat. This is a pretty big project and he handled everything end -to-end. He ordered the compressor, the air-handlers, all the additional parts, had them delivered to my house and began working it the next day. I had a 12,000 BTU zone installed on my second floor bedroom, 12,000 BTU zone in my dining room, a 9,000 BTU zone in my home office and a 9,000 BTU zone in my basement where he had to make a hole in the cinderblock) to run the electrical and piping. He also added an electrical subpanel in my basement and an emergency circuit breaker. I have been using the new unit now for two weeks and it works perfect. Jean did the installation all by himself and he really did a fabulous job. Two thumbs wayyyy up! No more window air-conditioners to deal with this summer. I will definitely be asking Jean back to do more work on my house, he has proven to be very reliable and knowledgeable. But the most important thing for me is that he has a great work ethic and gets the job done!

Jean did a high quality job for our broken hot water heater. We needed someone to replace the old unit with a new one and he was just the technician to do it. I had an extremely disappointing experience with Jean. After hiring him to install a new air conditioning system, I quickly noticed issues with the performance. The unit wasn't cooling properly at all. I decided to get a second opinion, and it turns out my suspicions were correct. The new professional I hired discovered multiple mistakes in the installation that were causing the issues. The professional was truly baffled by what he described as “unexcusable work.” I had to spend hundreds of dollars to correct these mistakes, which should never have been necessary if the job had been done correctly the first time. The lack of professionalism and expertise displayed by Jean is unacceptable. I do not recommend his services to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and hire a competent professional from the start.

Jean at handytech is great! I have a mini split system. It has been losing Freon and not doing the job. Jean came over the day after I called ready to diagnose and possibly repair. It was indeed fixable. Another AC tech might have just pushed for the new install. Jean was upfront and honest. He is true to his word. I know nothing about these machines, vulnerable to the repair man. I am grateful to handytech for their skilled labor and fair pricing. I totally recommend this company. Handytech Services is a great combination of technical know how and exceptional service.
